| Booking
systems and keeping in touch |
We
can now offer our customers a variety of different
booking methods. Including E/Bookings, an
easy to use internet based booking system, enabling
you to book cars at your convenience 24 hours a
day and once the job has been dispatched to a car
you can track the cars whereabouts from your computer. Our
office is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,
and our friendly operators are waiting to take
your call. We also offer an IVR Booking System,
an automated telephone booking system for periods
when all our operators are busy for when you want
your car as soon as possible.
All
our cars are fitted with two way radios along with
a full GPS data computer system, in addition to
this all drivers must carry a mobile phone when
working, and must have a valid full breakdown cover
policy. This ensures constant contact between
the office and our drivers which enables us to
provide this necessary support when needed.
Over
the last year we have introduced WCF (Wheel Chair
Friendly) vehicles to our fleet and over the
next five years we aim to increase our WCF vehicles
to at least 30% of the fleet.
Within
the next twelve months we hope to have put all
our WCF drivers through an approved training course
on patient care and understanding.
We
are working on arranging this with the assistance
of North Yorkshire Ambulance Service, who we already
do work for.
| Training
our drivers and looking after our customers |
As
well as training our Wheel Chair Friendly drivers,
we are looking into training for all our drivers. All
our drivers are instructed to offer assistance
to all customers who require it, not just those
in a wheelchair and also ensure any vulnerable
customers are safely at their destination before
pulling away ( we do this with the universities
as well to ensure lone females are safely indoors
before the driver pulls away). This is all
part of the service and no additional charge is
made for this (i.e. waiting time). We are
currently setting up a course with the York Tourism
Bureau, which will basically cover customer care
and presenting a professional image to the visitors
of York. We are also evaluating a new course
at York College, which will give drivers an NVQ
level qualification, this would cover health and
safety, customer care, legal requirements etc.
The
DSA (Driving Standards Agency) also now do an advanced
driving course for taxi drivers as well as training
for WCF vehicles. We hope over the next few
years to have all our drivers attend at least one
of these courses.
We
can confirm that all passengers and goods carried
by us will be fully covered on our insurance, and
should we be successful in winning your contract
will be happy to supply a copy of our insurance
policy detailing the full cover. All drivers
are required by the company to carry a minimum
of £5,000,000 of passenger / goods liability
as standard. As most driver policies do not
cover for claims away from the vehicle (while goods
are being carried to / from vehicles or passengers
are assisted in / out of buildings), Streamline
have a separate policy in place to cover all drivers
in case of an accident.
